Retail magazine - November 2014

Editorial by Frédéric Laloum

This year marks the 20th anniversary of both Altarea
and the MAPIC.
The third largest retail property company in France, today
Altarea Cogedim manages 56-shopping centers for a total value of €4-billion.

2014 : an exceptional year for the Group. In April, we inaugurated the fi rst connected shopping center close to Paris-; fully leased several months before its opening, QWARTZ has been a true success. Eight months after its inauguration, QWARTZ already welcomes several million customers.

Then, in June, Gares & Connexions announced Altarea Cogedim as the winner of its call for tenders for the refurbishment of the Paris-Montparnasse railway station. A testimony to our partners’ faith in our expertise in on-the-spot retail in transit locations, a field in which we are
uncontested leaders.

Finally, this fall stood out for the issuance of all the authorizations necessary for the official launch of the initiative to transform Cap3000, an iconic center and a European benchmark that will soon feature some 300 shops and restaurants over 135,000 sqm of retail space.

2014 has been a vintage year for the Group. In and around Paris, but also on the Riviera, Altarea is asserting its position, developing “prime” sites renowned throughout Europe that feature domestic and international retailers.
