SSPs

As from 21 October 2011 (after stock market closing), Altarea shares, like those of other listed real estate investment companies (SIICs), may no longer be held in Share Savings Plans (SSPs).

However, shares held in an SSP up until that date continue to benefit from the tax exemptions applicable to dividends and capital gains.


ALTAREA shares are not subject to the French real estate wealth tax (IFI), provided that the shareholder directly or indirectly holds less than 5% of ALTAREA’s share capital and voting rights.

Submitted to the vote of shareholders at the 2024 General Meeting called to approve the 2023 financial statements and assuming there is no further deterioration of the geopolitical, health or macroeconomic environment


The dividend will now be €8.00 per share with an optional component in shares representing 75% of its amount.

AltaGroupe (A. Taravella family) and its affiliates on one side, and Crédit Agricole Assurances and its affiliates on the other side, committed to opting for the full payment of the proposed dividend in shares. Together, these shareholders represent nearly 69% of Altarea's capital.


The General Shareholders' Meeting of 8 june 2023 voted a dividend of €10/share for the financial year 2022, up by 2.6% compared to 2021. Shareholders also offered an option to take part-payment in shares. They were free to choose between:

  • full payment in cash;
  • 50% in share, and 50% in cash.

the ex-dividend date was set on 12 june 2023. At the end of the option exercise period (14 to 23 June 2023 ), a total of 335,334 shares were subscribed. Taking into account a rounded par value of €15.28 per share, the nominal amount of the capital increase resulting from the subscription of the new shares totalled €5,123,903.52. The shares were created, delivered and admitted to trading on 4 July 2023. The amount of the dividend paid in cash was paid to the shareholders on the same day.

The General Shareholders' Meeting of 24 May 2022 voted a dividend of €9.75/share for the financial year 2021, up 2.6% compared to 2020.


The 2021 dividend was paid paid fully in cash on 31 May 2022 and the ex-dividend date was set on 27 May 2022.


The General Shareholders' Meeting of 29 June 2021 voted a dividend of €9.50/share, for the financial year 2020, up to 5.6% compared to 2019. Shareholders also offered an option to take part-payment in shares. They were free to choose between:

  • full payment in cash;
  • 50% in share, and 50% in cash.

The main shareholders of the Group as well as the senior executives of Altarea, together representing nearly 80% of the share capital, had announced their intention to subscribe to this option.

At the end of the option exercise period (7 to 20 July 2021 inclusive), a total of 482,385 shares were subscribed, i.e. a 91.59% subscription rate. Taking into account a rounded par value of €15.28 per share, the nominal amount of the capital increase resulting from the subscription of the new shares totalled €7,370,842.80. The 482,385 shares were created, delivered and admitted to trading on 26 July 2021. The amount of the dividend paid in cash was paid to the shareholders on the same day.

In 2023, several non-financial rating agencies assessed Altarea’s CSR performance which is built around the Group’s strategy “Tous engagés!”, supported by each teams and brands:

  • In 2023, Altarea was rated BBB by MSCI, equalling sector average. Altarea also continues to outperform the sector average on environmental issues.
  • Since 2019, Sustainalytics rates the Group’s ESG risks as “low”, making Altarea to maintain a stable rating.
  • Altarea has been rated by S&P for several years and obtains 49/100 in 2023. The Group belongs in the 1st rating decile among its peers. S&P ranks Altarea ESG risk as “low”.
  • EthiFinance (ex Gaïa) evaluated Altarea since 2017. With a rating of 73/100 in 2023, EthiFinance highlights that the Group continues to progress regarding CSR issues.
  • Altarea has responded to the GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) and has confirmed its "Green Star 5*" status until 2022. Ranked 3rd among listed retail companies in Europe with a score of 90/100, Altarea has obtained an A rating for transparency, a token of quality, reliability, and the exhaustive scope of its CSR reporting.
