19 May 2011
The Prix Cogedim 2011 de la Première OEuvre has just been awarded to Alban Morinière, a young graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD). His sculpture, entitled “Dual” will be on view from September 2011 in the entry lobby of the “Le Jardin d’Ecriture” apartment building in Paris’ 13th arrondissement.
The Prix Cogedim de la Première OEuvre aims to promote the work of young architects and artists graduating from French art schools by giving them the resources to complete their first work to be displayed in a Cogedim building. Architectural projects, sculptures, frescoes or mosaics, any artistic medium is welcome on the condition that it integrates harmoniously with the building environment. Cogedim has already awarded more than twenty Prix Cogedim de la Première OEuvre.

The eight candidates for 2011 were selected by Dominique Thinot, a professor at ENSAD and consultant on public art. Candidates had a free choice of themes and materials within the following brief: a work standing no more than 2m tall mounted on a plinth of no more than 80cm x 80cm, that is weatherproof and resistant to
